Security guard foils robbery at medical marijuana shop

April 17, 2008

An aborted armed holdup at a medical marijuana business Thursday morning ended with two robbers fleeing empty-handed after one of them was disarmed by security.

The attempted robbery occurred at Capitol Wellness Collective in the 2400 block of 14th Street when one man with a shotgun and another with a handgun followed a man into the store who was there ostensibly to buy medical marijuana, police said.

"The man showed his credentials and they let him come in," Sacramento Police spokeswoman Michelle Lazark said. "As the door opened, two subjects who were hiding rushed inside."

The suspects, who were in their 20s and wearing baggy clothing, were immediately met by an unarmed security employee, who police did not identify.

"The unarmed security guy grabbed the shotgun and began wrestling with him," Lazark said of the first suspect. "Meanwhile, some other staffers began to assist. Eventually, the subjects decided to get out of there."

The security employee was able to wrest the shotgun from the robber. The two got into a four-door black Cadillac and sped off on X Street.

The security employee was treated at the scene for minor cuts and bruises. Nothing was taken.

"We don't know where the card-carrying guy went," said Lazark. "During the scuffle he left. We have no idea where he is or if he was involved in this." Isn't it weird that we've figured out how to create and manage a system that delivers hallucinogenics, paralytics, depressants, antidepressants, stimulants, steroids, opioids, alpha blockers, beta blockers, hypnotics, antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals, antihistamines, anti-metabolites, hormones, immune-suppressants, immune-stimulants, muscle relaxants, analgesics, suppositories and laughing gas to patients who need them, but we can't figure out how to get them medical marijuana?
And here it is, still the case. Still weird.]

Below are some links to stories of robberies and other crimes occuring at the local Fast Food Restaurant. If we wanted to reduce crime we could close up all the Fast Food restaurants and stop selling alcohol since some of the crime in the articles involves alcohol.] 1 Corinthians 10:29 for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience? 1 Timothy 4:1 doctrines of devils;)
