Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
1 Corinthians 11:3 the head of every man is Christ;
Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Peter was not Roman Catholic, he was a Jewish fisherman!
Matthew 4:18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
And he was martyred in Rome as the Apostle Paul,
1 Peter 5:13 The church that is at Babylon,
He did not take up a sword to defend himself or try to save his flesh!
2 Timothy 2:3 a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
(See: IDENTIFYING THE TRUE CHURCH - Peter was not a pope, much less the first pope. The pope does not marry, Peter was a married man.
Matthew 8:14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
The pope lets people worship him, but when Cornelius worshiped Peter, he lifted him up with the words, "Stand up, I myself am also a man." Acts 10:26) Peter was martyred in Rome. At the time the church was an illegitimate body without the semblance of an organization, there was no existing process to elect a successor to Peter. Moreover, In the Scriptures there is not one remark about Peter being the chief apostle. (Comment: In fact the Apostle Paul rebuked Peter, Galatians 2:11-14 Galatians 2:11 to the face,) When the disciples contended for first place, Jesus taught them, "One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren." Matt 23:8.)
And the the other disciples did not sit around thinking about revenge for his death!
For they knew the lord!
Romans 12:19 for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
The Roman Empire finally collapsed,
Zechariah 4:6 Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Deuteronomy 7:18 but shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;
But Christians, Bible believers, Word of God believers!)
Revelation 21:2 the holy city, new Jerusalem,
Are still here!
What makes the American Empire think that they are any different!
([See: Hail Bush: A new Roman empire - They came, they saw, they conquered. Now the United States dominates the world. With the rise of the New Age Roman empire, Jonathan Freedland asks how long before the fall?][Also See: The Early Christian View of War - Although most Christians tried to flee local persecution when possible (in obedience to Matthew 10:23), they did not use force to defend themselves against persecutors. Like little children, Matthew 18:3 Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. they believed their Master when he said that his church was built on a rock over which the gates of Hades could not prevail. Deuteronomy 32:3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. 4He is the Rock, They realized fully that thousands of them might suffer imprisonment, experience excruciating tortures, and die monstrous deaths. Revelation 12:11 and they loved not their lives unto the death. But they were absolutely convinced that their heavenly Father would not let the church be annihilated. 1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (Comment: Even during Roman Empire and Roman Catholic Papal persecutions, Galatians 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, the true Church, Matthew 5:14 the light of the world. Bible believers, "Word of God" believers survived! 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.) Christians stood before Roman officials with naked hands, letting them know that they would not use human means to try to preserve the church. 1 Peter 2:5 a spiritual house, Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; They trusted God, and God alone, as their protector. We may be inclined to call the early Christian pacifistic view unrealistic; the early Christians called it trust. Luke 18:8 Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Who is right? History indicates that perhaps those Christians were not so naive as they might seem to many today. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: During the period from the birth of Christ to 180 C.E., the Roman Empire experienced a period of general peace, and it did not even suffer one successful invasion of its frontiers. Historians call this the period of the Pax Romana or Roman Peace and view it as a rather extraordinary period in the history of western civilization. Of course no secular historian would credit this peace to the presence and prayers of the Christians, but they firmly believed that it was the result of divine intervention. For example, Origen told the Romans: "How, then, was it possible for the Gospel doctrine of peace, which does not permit men to take vengeance even upon enemies, to prevail throughout the world, unless at the advent of Jesus a milder spirit had been everywhere introduced into the conduct of things?" In contrast, after the time of Constantine, when Christian teachers such as Augustine began teaching the doctrine of "just war" 1 Timothy 4:1 some shall depart from the faith, Romans 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, Mark 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. John 18:36 My kingdom is not of this world: Revelation 3:12 which is new Jerusalem, John 18:36 if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. and Christians had come to support Rome with the sword, the Empire experienced serious invasions and within a century thereafter the collapse of the Western Roman Empire itself before barbarian hordes.])
Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
